Arc of Justice is an ode to the popularized quote by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King
Jr., “We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice.” This mixed media diptych portrays a matriarch and her
descendant, with a gold arc bridging the two figures. The work suggests that
justice has been fully realized, and the strides and wisdom of the ancestor is
imparted upon the descendant. The descendant looks on with reverence and
gratitude, toward the matriarch who is offering and knowing.
