Indigo in Bloom (2026)
Description
Artist: Morgan Overton
Size: 9x12" original
Medium: Watercolor, Graphite, Cyanotype, Gold Leaf
Indigo has long carried contradiction: beauty and enslaved labor, adornment and extraction. In this piece, I wanted to return it to the body as something sacred and self-defined, with no outside or oppressive influence. She is fully embodied in the hue, at one with her personhood and nature. What do you think of when you see the color indigo?
