Philly Legends
Philly Legends
Description
Philly Hip Hop Legends by Natalie Hope McDonald pays tribute to the artists, DJs, and cultural pioneers who helped shape Philadelphia's influential hip-hop scene. Featuring hand-rendered lettering in a bold black-and-white composition, the piece brings together iconic names including Schoolly D, DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Fresh Prince, The Roots, Bahamadia, and many others.
Created on found wood, the artwork has a raw, street-inspired aesthetic that reflects hip-hop's roots in self-expression, creativity, and community. The layered lettering and visible brushstrokes give the piece an energy reminiscent of graffiti and handmade street signage.
More than a collection of names, Philly Hip Hop Legends celebrates the people and sounds that helped put Philadelphia on the musical map.
